Check engine light

This may have been covered. So here it is.Put new snow tires on last night, and check engine light came on. IN THE Owners manaul is says it could come on. Is there any risk to ignoring this. Will put all seasons back on in spring. We have 110'' of snow already and the all seasons did not cut it. used same size tire. Any thoughts.thanx in advance

The CEL should have nothing to do with your snow tires.

Not that I am aware of. ECM doesn't care what tire pressures are.

any chance that lack of pressure sensors would set it off?

Did you put gas in the car yesterday? Cap might be loose.

Andy... which Check Engine Light is on?

Is it the horseshoe shaped one with the dots in the middle? If so that's not a check engine light, it's the tire pressure monitor. Perhaps your new snow tires didn't have the pressure monitors in them?

When I bought my snow tires I didn't purchase the TPMs so I have to deal with a yellow light on the dash while I drive. Worth it to be able to get around safely in the snow.
