PAGE 3-36 OWNERS MANUAL Modifcations made to the engine, transaxle, exhaust, intake, or fuel system of your vechicle or the replacement of the orginal tires with other than those of the same Tire Performance Criteria [TPC] can affect your vechicle's emission controls and may cause this light to come on ...

Who am I to argue with the owners manual. After all mine states that I can arm my alarm by using the the door lock switch on the door, but it doesn't. In 06 it did but not my 07.
One thing you learn in the automotive repair business is that anything is possible, but not everything is probable.
You need to get the code pulled and you will know why the light is on.

I run the Amsoil in my car and dont have any issues like that. My oil still looks very clean, much cleaner than regular oil. 3500 miles on your oil change is BS anyway as new car manuals usually say every 7500 miles. Something else is or was wrong with the car and I would hold onto your paperwork as it might come back. All the years I have driven I have never had anyone tell me the problem was due to the oil. It could be just a faulty plug but your oil did not cause it. I would still go with the Amsoil, I have it in all my cars and bikes and noticed how much cooler my V-Rod ran with it.
