Chevy HHR Article

One thing I would disagree with, the article lists the running boards as useless....I would disagree with that.

They were probably referring to the using the running boards for steps rather than protection from road debris.

I totally agree with that analogy. The other thing that kind of bothered me was that it has limited cargo space.
When I moved in mid January, I moved several loads of stuff in the HHR with the seats folded down.
Holds just as much as my old Toyota Short Bed truck would have.

I too don't think they meant the running boards are usless, I think they just wanted to say they are un-necessary as far as getting in and out is concerned.

The comment about "Limited Space" was only about the amount of interior storage like the glove box, and other compartments.

Here's what they said about cargo space:
There's a low, wide cargo opening, and rear seatbacks easily flip forward and sit flat to enlarge the decent cargo area. Even the front passenger seatback folds forward to accommodate extra-long objects.
