It may be that the ones you have seen without running boards were ordered with running boards and the dealer has not put them on, or they did not ship with the car. Not installed until purchased? Just a guess. My dealer had mentioned these to me. Said they were only on the cars without running boards.

WAIT Dont move on just yet, I went to check these out on my car, and I noticed that they are lifting!!!!!! Is this happening to anyone else?????

They are probably held on by dual sided tape.

Isopropyl Alcohol - $0.73 a quart at Wal-Mart.
That will talke tape residue right off without damaging the paint.
