Well im bored and have nothing to do.
The passenger front of the hood is off. Its about a quarter of inch higher than the driver side. As for the rest of the hood above the fenders its nearly perfect.
The last pic shows the difference when looked at from the front.

The HHR hood is one of the most complicated stampings that GM has ever did.
They outsourced the die to a company in Japan, as they are the best, in this area.
It takes 7 hits, from the die, to form the hood. $$$$$$$$
So, I would blame the fenders, before I would blame the hood.

If you are NOT a premium member, you cannot attach directly to your post. You must find a hosting source such as Photobucket and use the imaging code to attach to your post. I think there is a sticky on the procedure and ChevyMgr, I think, has a link to a how to in his signature

When I got run off the road my hood did not get messed up but they did have to realign my fenders hood and bumper.
The guy in the body shop is a old pro and has been around for years and is one of the top guys in the area. I would go to the shop and watch him work when I stopped to check how it was going. He told me and showed me how difficult it is to align the front end of this vehicle. He said it was one of the hardest he had ever seen.
The complex body lines are bad enough with the taper to the hood but there is also an optical effect on the side that can make the gap look worse than it is. You can measure from some points like the bumper but if the bumper is off the fender line will be off too. You have to get all sides even to get it right.
That was one effect of my repair is my nose is better than it was from the factory.
