Constant 12v source?

I want to hook up a small led flashing light for a alarm and need a constant 12v source that’s issue to hook up and have it flash when ignition is off.

Thought about that, I Would just pull that panel out and splice into the wires. Now the dash has that bulb thing on top but think thats for the key fob maybe? Any ideas what it is?

The clear bulb thing on the top of the dash near the windshield ? That's the light sensor for the automatic headlights.

Pretty sure all HHRS came with an alarm system with a flashing light in the cluster.

It took me several years for me to notice that flashing light. It only flashes after you lock with the fob.

You guys are right now I remember and reason I haven’t seen it and forgot is fob has been dead forever. Tried new batteries and both won’t work. So the insides are worn out I guess and it’s really expensive to buy new ones and have the dealer program them.. I’m sure the fobs might be cheaper now days. But the HHR is being parked outside so wanted to figure something out.

You can get self program fob kits for around $50. Check ebay/Amazon, many parts stores.

Some years the light flashes if you use the all lock button on the driver door.

Doesn’t Dorman have replacement fobs with the device to program up to 3 times?

Could just be the rubber key pads are worn... I replaced those in mine for around $10. No programming as they are the original fobs.
