08 SS and all 09s are different than all previous models.

Went to the Dealer, looked at 09's on the lot--none had front cupholder inserts... I spoke with the Mgr--he looked in an '08 and saw that it DID have inserts... He, graciously, gave them to me .....

Got home--DOH!! They don't fit--too big! Chevy must have made the front cupholders a wee-bit smaller--they miss by about 1/8" in diameter...

I've decided that I can live without them...

I'll return the 08 liners tomorrow....

Im sure the 08 owner will appreciate that.
Now that I think about it, the 09s I have seen didnt have them either.

Cool Just took a look at mine.

I don't have any liners in the cup holders or the door grab/pull handles.
Is this something that I will have to go through a big hassle with since I have had it all of three weeks almost?
Or, do I really need them? When I get a chance, I'll drive on over to the dealer. See what happens.
But, I will be going to San Antonio for a couple weeks starting on the 1st. I'll be back on the 19th. Busy arranging travel and hotel reservations. Government travel orders and all that too. I'll be doing some work/training at Randolph AFB, near San Antonio.
Anyway, is this another corner cut by GM? No trivial conveniences?
I looked at the grab handles and you see the screw heads and a slot or two where something should probably attach in there. Hmmm?

You are better off making your own. The GM ones for the 09s are thin rubber that curls up and looks and feels terrible.

A heat gun will flatten them out and they kinda sorta fit into the slot around the screw holes. But I agree these are a junk design.

I have a 08 HHR SS . . . the door handle liners on mine are flat oval and just lie in the hole like a soggy noodle . . .

I took some pics of what the various inserts look like so you can decide if it is worth getting replacements. These are out of my 08 SS, but the cup holders on my 07 LT are identical and the door pull is similar but sized different, and no center console "coin holder in the rear of the shifter on that one.

Center console "coin storage" on Manual

Front cup holders

What the door pull looks like with insert

The thin insert

Probably what you see now without the insert

Thanks for the pics. I do believe I can live without them, now that I know what they look like.
