Custom Paint prices??

Been thinking of doing something different with the SS. Anyone had an entire HHR repainted yet? I was looking at some places and haven't really looked hard into prices yet. I was thinking Synergy Green. The SG Camaro was the orginally the car I wanted to buy but the price was way too much for so little performance/options but the color is amazing to me. So any ball park figures on new paint?

Thanks,

Dave

I would kill for your silver. Maybe just accent the paint or do a sweet two-tone?

2010SilverIceSS for an idea, I'm wanting to have my fenders re-done. That alone for both is $600.. so I wouldn't guess ANY LESS THAN $3,000.

Estimates estimates estimates....then when you find 1 , contact some of their previous customers to get some reviews. & the cheapest is not always the best . )

& the most expensive doesn't mean a great job either...... Get estimates and talk to customers.... The actual cost will vary from location to location to, so any prices you hear about on the forum may not be valid in your area.

Well, in our area I would go with Lafata on Utica road south of 12 mile, or Clover's on Stephens east of Gratiot. I've seen both shops work on classic cars and the paint quality is fantastic.

You will not get much under $5k for a paint job. Time is money and the better jobs take good prep and time. Also it take good quality paint.

You can get cheaper like Maco but you get the basic's not much else.

Sometimes you can get a guy needing work and he will make you a deal. But too often the guy is needing work for a reason.

The bottom line is good paint take time and time is money. If you want to look right and last check around with guys with show cars and find out who did their work.

Just remember if you cheap out and the water that got trapped under the paint starts to rust you got what you paid for.

Mine was right at 6k, plus another 1000 for the flames/pinstripe. Would have been more but since it was already VR, I didn't have any of the "inside" repainterI did have the underside of the hood done though. VR base, 8 coates HOC large dry flake, 8 coated clear, flames, clear over flames.

BTW, you can't trust the same shop either if personel change. Originally mine was great but when I had to have a bumper repainter, I found out the hard way that the shop paint crew had turned over completey.

Don't forget about "Vehicle Wraps" you can pick the design & have it wrapped for under some prices listed here.

And it protects the oem paint, should ever wish to remove it..
