Damaged remote control & tire pressure module
On a 2008 hhr lt.... Does anyone know where to locate internal module that controls remote door lock, remote start, and tire pressure ?
Damaged when headlamps left on drained battery, jump start damaged these modules, dealer wan ts $100 per hour to trouble shoot......
GM SCREWED UP PUTING DOOR CHIME INTO SPEAKERS WHEN THEY ARE FIRST ITEM TO GO SOUTH, SO YOU CANT HEAR DOOR CHIME WHEN KEY IS LEFT IN IGNITION OR HEADLAMPS ARE LEFT ON>>>>

There is no troubleshooting needed, there is a TSB concerning this exact problem. The 2008 models need a firmware update for the RCDLR. It is not a Hardware malfunction replacing it will only help if the new one gets programmed with the updated firmware. The jumpstart has nothing to do with it, assuming you followed the directions in the Owner Manual, if you didn't you may have damaged other modules.
TSB# 08-03-16-001B https://www.tsbsearch.com/Chevrolet/08-03-16-001B. If you can convince them to to their job and look it up. It will still cost you "computer labor", most charge 1 hour. Some well equipped independent shops can get access to Techline to download and install.

Since speakers were the original issue, where they signal door chime, headlamps were neglected numerous times over a long period of time,
while travelling thru construction zones, mandate lights on in daytime and speaker issue,
it was more than once that it needed jumped.
Possibly cooked more than one. And cant afford dealer service prices (retired 66 months now)
i just use key and hidden lock opener incase some dumbass locks keys in car.
Tire pressure monitor is the worst, they need checked constantly to control tire wear...

So, I wasted my time posting the information you need?
Pennsylvania law says you need the tail lights on as well as the DRL. I guess that is for the convenience of the police. You could just keep your hand on the switch while in a construction zone or turn the high beams on that would put the light on the dash on.
It is not very difficult to replace the door speakers, I got a pair for about $25. If you are as old as me you don't care much about the sound quality.

Rob123,
The chime noise comes through the "A" piller mounted speaker,
not the door speaker,
AND they hardly ever go bad.
The headlights power off when the car is turned off,
unless someone messed with the wiring thinking they know more than the design engineers.
I'm not going to talk about the hidden lock opener.

The headlights stay on if you have turned them "on" instead of "auto". I did that the first night I owned my 2008.
The chimes go to the left front channel, the tweeter is attached to the channel in parallel, the door speaker is inherently the louder of the 2. If you get really close to the tweeter you can barely hear the chimes, they are out of the tweeter range.

The chimes come though both the door speaker and the A-pillar tweeter. Pretty sure I read they’re not even separate channels, just wired in parallel. In any event, in my experiences with the failed driver door speaker, and I’ve had three, it seems the chime all but disappears, and can only be heard faintly through the A-pillar tweeter.
