Dark Switches

I recently acquired another HHR, a 2008, and while all my instrument lights work fine, I cannot get the lights on my window control buttons to work. Any Ideas where to look?

Clean the contacts in the door switches , if they’re in the drivers door.

if they’re in the console, they didn’t have lights.

2008 LS and LT had the window switches in the console.
That "mood light" thing in the overhead console is what shines lighting on those switches.
The switches themselves do not have their own backlighting.

You can try the dash light dimmer switch to see if it’s just turned down

The "mood light" in question is that tiny LED in the headliner near the mirror. It's purpose is to illuminate the window switches on 2006-2008 models and act as a tell tale that the headlight (not DRL) are on.
