Dashboard Cover

I Have 2008 HHR 2LT Victory Red. The interior RPO code is 19I (ebony). I'd like to get a nice dashboard cover to protect it from the Texas sun. Are there any that any of you have had good experience with and would recommend in terms of installation, wear and tear, good looks, material (suede or carpet) etc?

to be honest, those carpet suede things are soo ugly! just make sure you wipe all your exposed dash pieces, and door panels and whatever else with a good sealant from Meguiars or Mothers or even Armor All, thats all you need
but its your car, so do what you feel is better

This is the one I went with. Dashmat in suede. The SS embroidery was extra.
Not bad. I would advise getting extra velcro. Not enough comes in the box.

It's not about the looks so much as protecting it from the sun. Try some of our Alabama relentless sun,or the OP's Texas sun. You're in Canada so putting on some "protectant" may work up there. Not so much down here where inside car temps can approach 150 degrees.
My Dodge truck dash is faded and cracked in about 10 places. It always had Armor All put on it from the day I got it new. Started cracking after 3-4 years. I wish I had used a dash cover from the beginning.

Guess your not familiar with the SS RPD(Reconfigureable Performance Display)
Optional in 08,09. Standard for '10.
The only picture I have on my desktop is this one; There are 8 or so different screens to switch between.
(sorry to the OP for semi hijacking this thread)

My HHR is the dark metallic silver so I bought the gray cover big mistake as the sun reflected onto the windshield very annoying so I trashed the gray and went with a black cover no more reflection big difference.

Agree with "fireman". It's really about the heat gain and then the bounce heat from the dash. I noticed it immediately after purchase......almost 8 years ago. The dash cover reduces it significantly. Probably hard for people in the Northern Brotherhood to understand that concept.......Lawagz will, being from Texas.

Jay.... My '06 is also the dark silver metallic. My dash cover, a carpet "type" material, doesn't reflect into the windshield. BUT, I did notice when the sun is overhead just right, it reflects off the TOP OF THE STEERING COLUMN into the odometer clear plastic cover.....making it unreadable. I used one of those "sticky" dash pads that hold phones, etc. to eliminate that.
