FiremanGeorge

Did you have to trim or cut any holes for sensors? I'm thinking about the little silver sensor in the center of the dash near the windshield.

If it is made for YOUR HHR, you should not need to do anything except clean the dash, spot clean with alcohol where the velcro attach's, stick the velcro down to the appropriate locations and place the cover.

Mine had everything cut and reinforced edge when I purchased it......and it is a cheap flea market model.

Look into having very light coloured but heat deterring window tint on the windshield.

A good place to start with inquiries would be at Tintdude

Call California car cover. Their covers are great and fit like a glove. Tkes about 2 weeks to get but worth it.

I went ahead and ordered one from dashmat.com Got black suede with HHR embroidered in white block letters on the passenger side airbag cover. Total cost inc. shipping, tax and embroidery is $77.09 I also sent an e-mail to customer service as FiremanGeorge recommended getting more velcro as there was not enough in his box. Customer service (Kathy) is sending me extra, free of charge, in a separate envelope. Good people. Thanks all, for your comments and recommendations!

Lawagz: I did trim the hole that goes around the auto headlight sensor(the center dash sensor)
The height of the Dashmat carpet was keeping the sunlight from hitting the sensor. The headlights were staying on except when the sun was pretty much straight overhead. I enlarged the sensor hole to about twice the size it was.

To FiremanGeorge

My Dashmat cover finally came in (black suede with white HHR emgroidered on airbag cover). I have it sitting out right now with books on it to flatten it out. Is there anything you would recommend before I try to install it? I'd love to have it fit as nicely as yours and do you have any recommendations as to placement of the velcro strips? I did get extra by contacting customer service and they sent them free of charge.
