Well I think it is a bit coarser than the 2.2 that was in the first 2 HHR's I have rented. Around town it doesn't seem any different...I notice a bit more power when passing on the highway but nothing dramatic.

I prefer the exhaust tone of the 2.2 also fwiw...they do sound different to me

I'm also not keen about having to use 91 to get the best performance and mpg

I actually thought that I had the 2.4 in the first HHR I rented it felt so quick

(Not dissing 2.4 owners..just my preference that's all!)

Not a problem. The 07 has a build date of 10/4/06. The 06 has a build date of 8/26/05.
