With mine, there is no hologen hi side, it's all the HID.

I pulled the fuse and installed the HID's, I don't have Hi/Low beams...only 1 beam and it's awesome no need for hi/low here as it cuts the night/fog like a razor.

You can run them in DL mode, just be sure to add a resistor in line or let the person selling you the unit to add it at time of purchase, less hassle that way.
If your going to take the time to install new HID, check out the LED switchback running/turn signal lites, clear in running mode and yellow when flashing, I love mine! add a set of Depos your done
