Dealer charge for spoiler install??
Does anyone know about how much a dealer would charge to install the OEM spoiler? I just wanted to see if any of you guys knew and then I wanted to call and see what the dealers around here say. Thanks for any info!

Most dealers are crazy. They wanted to charge me $65.00 to install , my rain vents. Got them online and did it myself. Now the spoiler is different, but I would check with a local body shop that you trust first.

Some dealers lose their minds when doing post-purchase install stuff for you. When the thread started on the How-To board for adding radio controls to the steering wheel if you didn't already have them, I called a dealer closer to home than where I purchased it for a quote on parts and labor.
Talk about they quoted me $75 for parts and $250 for labor.
They quoted me $30 more for the parts than I would pay through gmpartsdirect.com
According to the thread on this, it can take anywhere from 10 minutes on up to install the parts. Needless to say, I won't be asking them to put them on my car. For $250 I can do it myself by following steiny's instruction.
If it were me and I didn't want to do the work myself, I would take it to a reputable body shop and have it done.

personally, i am taking mine off sooner or later and the back wiper and fillling the holes and painting both so they wont be there
to do the spoiler and roof rails i was quoted $425.
i did both in just about an hour and went back and showed them the install.
was nice to save $425 and put the money to other use.
all you have to do is get someone to help you line it up on the back door, use a dry erase marker to set the placement,,, use the rubber grommet there to mark your holes. drill a small hole for the bolt to go through and then u have to drill a 1 inch hole underneath to put the nut on from under.
then you need to bolt it together. and then put in the original 1 in plugs and you will have to find and put in 2 more.

Best bet is to buy spoiler unpainted and take it to a local body shop you trust and have it painted and installed like Mike is doing. They can match the color and install it alot cheaper than the dealer will. If you don't know anyone, talk with friends and neighbors for recommendations or contact the better business bureau.
