Found mine on dealership lot...

I found the perfect HHR just sitting on the dealership lot. I got a 2008 HHR LS, Sunburst Orange, 5 speed, with the only options being the premium radio/speakers and the roof rack side rails. What more could I want? :-D

I got mine only 3 weeks after they started selling them. I got the one I did because it was the only one they had and it had only been on the lot on display for an hour when I got there.

I agreed to a deal on mine then we went on a search to find it.

My dealer had no SS in stock and once we came to a agreed price on a fully loaded SS they did a dealer trade and had it ready at 4 PM the next day.

The best part is I bought mine over the internet using E mail from work while I worked.

E mail is the best way to buy a car as it puts the buyer in control and the emotion of seeing the car does not play in. I got my price that I wanted and it was cheap. several thousands off what my other best deal was at another dealer.

The best part was it was my local dealer.

You need to add dealer trade here as mine was not ordered nor on the lot and I got just what I wanted.

When I ordered my SS Panel several other local dealers were hoping they could trade for other inventory when it arrived.

I wanted a 5-speed LS. That was my only criteria when going to the lot, however I was disappointed to find the only color option was an ivory color. While talking over numbers on a black one with automatic, another sales guy came in and said they had 2 HHR's that just came off the truck that they had in the "Internet Room" taking pictures, and one of them was a 5-speed. Sure enough, loved the color, agreed on a price, and picked it up the next day after getting the financing done through my local bank. It had 1 whole mile on her when I drove it off the lot.....

I considered that, but I would still consider that off the lot and not ordered by the customer. It just wasn't the lot you wanted to buy from.
