I had time to kill after dinner before picking up my son from a school party, so I decided to take a little cruise around my neighborhood. After stopping at a stop sign, I took off not anticipating that the car approaching from my right was speeding. He clipped my new, right back tire, tore off the bumper, and bent something in the suspension. Here are the pictures. It spun me all the way around.

On the positive side, flames left intact. In fact, no apparant damage at all to the quaterpanal or bumber brackets. And now is my chance to get all the little dings repaired. The bummer is waiting for the insurance adjuster to ok the car for repair.

I'd cry if that was mine. Everyone is fine, so that's a good thing. If you need something to cheer you up, let me ask this......where'd you get that awesome antenna on your roof in the top photo? Is that a SoCal "Not So Stubby"?

Boy oh boy Lee...if it weren't for bad luck, you wouldn't have any at all. That just stinks...looks like your anticipated trip to the body shop just got accelerated a bit. Sorry to see this happen to your poor HHR bud.

Lee, not much more to say than what I emailed you earlier, but again, I'm glad no one was hurt.

My wife just took ours to Boston and the wind is really whipping horribly. She's a good driver, but you never know when another car is gonna come at you, well, as you found out .

Good luck to all of us and our cars. At least Chevy got the five star rating in safety with the HHR!

WOW. Clean break really if you think about it. If the quaterpannel would of needed to be repainted that flame would have to come off. I think she would be back on the road by Thursday.
