Question DIC readout

I know, I know, this is a stupid question. I've changed the oil once at about 6,xxx. My DIC now reads 76%. Is that 76% 'used up', or 76% oil life left before next change??? I now have 13,xxx miles on my 2010 model.

I have about 8000 miles since my last oil change (full synthetic) and the DIC shows 47% oil life. I did do a couple of 3000 mile road trips on the oil. The dip stick still shows full and the oil is still translucent.

Whisper so nobody has to change their oil again this week.
No question is a stupid question, but some have been asked and answered a million times.
Maybe the fact that the number decreases would be a clue? (Okay, a little sarcasm)
It's in the Owner Manual.
The DIC will let you know at 5% "Change Oil Soon". Usually at around 13,000 miles.

Owners "Manual". C'mon donbrew! You know that's just for the folks that have a 5 speed.

My dealer told me not to exceed 7500 miles no matter what DIC said.

I bet he also told you that only he should change it.
Would you be more willing to believe a manufacturer of the car or a shop that makes lots of money from oil changes?
