why worry with a the 6-disc-- i did not opt for that option-- you can take the same 6 discs rip them to mp3 and then make one disc that the cd player will play and have more songs.. and if ripped properly with id3 tags-- the display will show the name of the song and artist.. couple more years and i think you will even see the cd go away...

put about 70 mp3's on one disk, multiply that by six disks and you have a jukebox of 420 songs right at your fingertips.

heheh 70 mp3's try about 250 on standard 800 mb disk mp3's ripped at 128 kbps --another reason I found living in the deep south -- had the 6 disc changer in my 2003 avalanche and sometimes during extreme summer time-- the discs would actually warp inside of the player and not play.. so I always got in the habit of removng the disks when it got really hot out... plus now with the aux input can take the laptop along for longtrips and listen to my playlists--just like at home

I think a possible mod would be to buy the 2009 version of the corporate radio w/ the USB port.

That and a anti-sway bar =) for my 2007.
