Can I purchase and install a rear view mirror with driving compass display and dimmer in a 1LT?

I got one from an '06 Equinox with dimmer, compass and temp. Plugged it in and it works fine, except for temp but who cares. It was free.

My 08 1lt panel has one so i dont see why not. To get the temp to read out you will probably have to get the temp sensor and plug it in also. It is behind the front grill/bumper area. I would imagine the wiring should be there.

If the car was a rental, I doubt the wiring harness will be there. You would have to look for the wiring, if it's there you're in luck.

I just installed one on my 07 LS. The wiring connector was not the same. I have to get the correct connector from the bone yard and run a switch power feed to the mirror. It works great and the map lights are led which is a improvement from the old ones.

So if it was a rental, the wires won't be there to plug into? And would it behoove me to find a 2010 junker and take the mirror from one?

I don't think it maters if its a rental the 07 I was talking about was not a rental. I got my mirror off of ebay. I wanted the correct one for the car with out onstar the conector that I got from the bone yard was from a car with onstar and it work just fine.

Don't really know, but rentals had some odd deletes. GM sometimes deletes the entire harness and sometimes just the pigtail part and sometimes it's just a different harness altogether.

For some reason there seems to be a different part number for the headliner w/auto dim mirror and w/o auto dim mirror, maybe I'm mis reading the parts diagram.

$324 new no onstar auto dim. go to a junk yard!
