That's why I would never trust to finance through a dealer.... I've heard of them trying to pull that trick many times.

Hello Crazy Kid...

What trick are you talking about?

The one about bumping my rate or which one?

Thanks,

John

I've heard stories of many people going to the dealer, getting financed, trading their car in and leaving with the new car. Then a few days later they call back and say it didn't work out, and they're raising your rate. Most times you've driven the car, and if you return it you have to pay fees. It's a scam you're seeing more and more of.

Well I talked to the General Finance manager at Toyota and he simple said that if I do not like the APR then I do not buy the car and I can return it free of charge.

Where I am confused is how is it that Van Chevrolet Offer to return the car as long as I buy there and I will not be liable at all with Toyota.

They keep on saying they work under the same corporation.

Can anyone explain that?

Thanks

John

What's so confusing about that?
My guess is that you didn't qualify for the zero rate with TMCC (Toyota Motor Credit Corp), so the Chevy dealer offered to sell you their car - did they 'guaranty' you an interest rate?. The Chevy dealer wouldn't be financing you with TMCC........

This time my finance I got it from my bank... So I am paying the car at Chevrolet cash and dealing wiht my bank only..

My only concern is if they return the toyota on my behalf are they really going to make it to where I am no longer liable for that car?

Thanks

John

If you're concerned, couldn't you return it to the Toyota dealer, get your HHR back, then start over and go to the Chevy dealer and trade it in?

I would have taken the Toyota back, gotten your trade in back... made sure paperwork was all in order so you owed nothing for the time you had the new car and then went elsewhere with the bank loan..... even if it was to the chevy dealer for the same Cruze..... That way I would know everything was square. I don't trust dealers and finance departments, they seem to always have some kind of trick going on.

I hope that's not the case with you and it's all on the up and up....... Good luck!

I did thought about doing all of that after I gave them the keys to the Toyota...

What I am doing now is that I will wait for them to have my trade and have a paperwork showing I do not owe anything then I will sign the loan papers with Chevrolet.

Thanks

John
