I've been thinking about this having to add 2 gallons to start all morning.

I have a question to BIGTENHHR and BOSSHOUND. Did either of you try to start the vehicle before you added the second batch of fuel??

GCarp,

You know, I honestly can't remember. It seems to me I locked it up, and had the keys with me. But sure as the day is long, it read that on the information bar, because I noticed the small section of snow/slush build up that had been cleared away from the window when the cop must have looked it. I looked through it and saw that "LOW FUEL" was clearly vis-able.

In either case - I was glad, my hazards where on, so maybe that's why it was lit up.

ChevyMgr,

Yes, I tried to start it after I added the first batch...thus my concern it wasn't a fuel issue. It would be kinda foolish to add gas and then not attempt to start it though...

Here is what I was thinking. When the gas ran out at the injectors you would of had a foam of bubbles in the lines. When you added the fuel the first time, it still had the foam and possibly that is why it didn't start. I was thinking that the longer it sat the more the foam would dissipate. Just a thought. That's why I was wondering if you tried to start it before you put the next batch of gas in.

If someone wants to try this... once you put in the first gal... just turn the ignistion on for a minite or two then try and start the little bugger... electric fuel pump... that's what i have to do to my little 55 wagon in the spring after every thing evaportates over the winter... same princple... filling the carb and fuel lines... yes my 55 has an electric fuel pump...

hazaard lites and snow... the cop was looking for frozen bodies... a far as the message bar info... remember i am mostly blind... i had a display on another car that when turned off you could still see the last message displayed if the light hit the display just right
