They're called "whiskers". Bud has them stealthily mounted on his 1HotHHR, so you have to be looking for them to see them.

Besides that, whiskers are old school cool. The perfect match for a classic looking ride like the HHR.

Had them on my 62 SdV, I always called them "curb-feelers."

I've never heard to them referred to as whiskers either. Now Curb Feelers I've heard many times.

Wow...
I never heard "Curb Feelers" until today. Perhaps "Whiskers" is a slang term coined by inner-urbanites back in the day? Either way, curb feelers look and function like whiskers.

I was detailing my car this weekend and found the same type of damage on my left drive wheel. Funny, I shoulda woulda recalled doing this.

My mom did this to her 18" Malibu wheel. I told next time to take out a fender as they are cheaper. LOL!
