Not sure there is enough room between what looks like a resonator and the rear beam for a Camaro style muffler, unless it was very small. Did this on my GMC Sonoma V6 but there was plenty of room.

I was referring to running the muffler along side the rear beam after the exhaust goes over the rear beam Just have it turn in to the inlet, and out each outlet to the rear.

The only part to change would be after the beam, nothing before.

This is basically the same way PT Bob routed his. The heat shield on the crossing pipe is a nice touch. Great pics.

I think you are referring to directly below the gas tank, it may hang too low for clearance purposes. Take notice of the heat shield used on the cross pipe behind the rear beam in the prior pics.

I saw the heat shield. Something similiar could be done to a muffler. Just a thought for someone wanting to add that second tip.

And isn't the gas tank in front of the axle beam, not behind?

Yes it is. It's underneath the rear seat basically. The way mine is, it's close to the EVAP system and the fuel filler tube, that's why I used the heat shield. I have had my exhaust tips moved in a few inches since those pictures by the way.
