They do look a little alike from the front at first glance, but then, the same guy designed them, so what can we expect?

I don't think they look anything alike (PTC vs. HHR). The HHR looks more, well... ...manly. If I remember from when I was doing some pre-buy research, Motor Trend also more or less said that.

So far, I have have been referring to my new HHR as "The HR", though, because it just seems to roll off the tongue easier.

Sometimes.... I call mine HeRR.... but that's not to say she's not manly.... er... something like that..

Don't know if Cheveron still sells them, but the HHR reminds me of those cute little cars that Cheveron use to, or perhaps still uses to advertise with. I'm talking about the cute little old cars with eyes and cute personalities.
