Your vehicles VIN contains the code to determine engine size. See the post in the Sticky section above.

The main difference in them is the bore size.

They do look the same. I have an '06, 2.2 automatic and was pleasantly surprised at how well this car accelerates, as well as the good MPG I get which is 23/29.

I traded in a 2001, loaded LS Malibu for HHRvey, and have been very pleased with the ride. I do miss the leather seats and sporty appearance I had with the Malibu, but I have not regretted this trade at all. I bought HHRvey brand new and literally drove him off of a red carpet inside the dealership. It really is a great ride!

Thanks All, for the replies.. I appreciate each one..

I was reading that the 8th Vin # tells the motor size.

The 8th # from the left is a "P" & all the '08 2.4 ebay ones have a "P" for the 8th Vin #.

The Vehicle is not close by, so just am going off the Vin # & the Big stainless tail pipe...
Just trying to make sure..

I gather both are very good motors.. But I would think the 2.4 would cost a bit more..
