E-ZPass mounting

You know, the toll thingy....

I've had one for a few years now. It's just to the right of center behind the mirror. Can't see it from driver's seat, but I HATE the way it looks from the outside!

I thought about mounting inside the lid for the center top dash storage bin. Out of sight, but not sure if there would be any signal issues.

Anyone with E-ZPass tried this?

Other ideas welcome, but NOT "paint it".

Besides the whole signal thing, is it required that it remain visible? I'd check about that if it were me.....

My Malibu has a top storage box too, and the Texas toll tag does not work when it's inside of it.

At least in VA, you can get the front license plate mounted EZ-Pass. I think you just have to ask and trade in. Signal issues abound with RFID devices (same as the TPMS). The main reason they offer the license plate option is that some cars have a metallic coating on the windshield, those cars are older models so, if you like this option you should move quickly.

NY has those too - had one on our Transsport so I just transferred it to the new HHR. Just sits under front license plate so you hardly even notice it. Works great.

I sprayed mine flat black before instal, you can see a bit of the velco, but 98% invisible from the front of car.
