77 degrees here in Southern California (Murrieta) . But I do remember those days. Until I joined the USMC (1991) I was born and raised in the NYC. I sure don't miss those days freezing my toes waiting for the bus to show up

Weather Update

This was taken at 1:00 PM. 16 inches on the ground, 14 degrees out, and still snowing like mad.

Yeah, here in NC it's the same way. If the weatherman even says the word "snow" the grocery stores fill up with people buying milk, bread, water, etc. I've lived here in the south my whole life and I still don't understand it. Even if it does snow, in three days you would never know it was here! I think you can survive a couple of days with the food you already have! We did have a freak storm a few years ago that dropped 20+ inches of snow that did cripple the area for a bit longer than 3 days, but that was a once in a lifetime event!

It's the ice storms that are the real problem here. Last year we had rain ahead of cold front which brought us about an inch of snow following. Problem was that rain froze and created a thin layer of ice on all the roadways. The city screwed up and didn't salt the roads and created the worst traffic nightmare in the state. It took some people 13 hours to get home when they only lived 15 miles from work! Some school kids had to spend the night at school because the buses couldn't move either. Of course it warmed up the next day and it was like nothing ever happened except for several abandoned cars on the sides of the roads for a few days.

Couple of weeks ago it was in the 70's here... strange times...

I got out and pedaled (yes cycling) with two other friends, put in 35 miles. Low 30's and a few snow flakes were seen. Atlanta had some snow flurries, real light, but cold and windy.

The weather was about the same here in Huntsville but I gotta tell ya, I wussed out and didn't get a ride in. Guess I'll have to do it inside in my workout room.
