engine diag fault class HPTuner question
i created a post on the hptuners forum but also wanted to expand my question to get quicker answer(s) so please bear with me.
with the latest version 4.10.4, under the DTC fault list, there's more options now than before in the drop down list:
disabled
misfire detest (mil blink)
misfire detect (mil on x cycles)
mil on (x cycles)
mil on (after 5 seconds)
mil off (stored fault)
mil off (remove after x cycles)
fault with service-tester
misfire detect (mil, no blink)
fule supply system
driveability fault (non emiss.)
driveability fault (emiss.)
mil on (after 5 seconds)
if i want to disable the 0420 but still have it ready to pass emissions, which one do i pick now?

P0420 is a code indicating an emissions problem, I don’t believe you can mask it with your tune.
there are many videos of O2 sensor extensions and how to trick them into thinking their readings are fine, but it is most likely your catalytic converter has failed, either clogged by oil or coolant leak, or just needs replacement.

Oldblue, thanks, i was just using 0420 as an example and i currently dont have an issue with my cat. i have an LS1 fbody and the setup for the fault class is totally different than the LNF for whatever reason but if i wanted to disable the emissions (0420, 0410,0440 to name a few) but still pass emissions, i select 'No Error Reported'.

It doesn't matter P0420 etc mean the same thing on every OBD2 vehicle. They can probably tell if it has been diddled with. If you have a good cat the best way would be to remove the tune for the test. without a cat, good luck find a dishonest test site.
Maybe there is a setting in HPtune that sets everything to "ready" not just disabled.

I've no experience with HP, but was the US importer for Efilive for many years. When one of my knock sensors went out on my 2000 Z-28, I just found the table containing all the checks and told it that sensor was not installed. The code went away and it always passed smog just fine. I assume you can do the same in HP, I've just no idea what it might look like.

I would think that is a common question on the hptuner forum or the instructions. Almost everyone with a tune has to beat the smog inspector. It might depend on how your individual state tests.
I'm surprised that none of our members with HPtunes has chimed in. I changed the thread title to include "HPTuner" maybe that will pique some interest.

btw, i have not gotten an answer to this question on here or on the hptuners site or anywhere else. i had to reflash back to my stock tune and drive the relearn process to be able to pass emission readiness.
