enter into cooling mode

Without knowing the actual temperature or if it is running hot, it's hard to advise.
How about a little more info. How long have you owned this car ? Mileage ? When does this occur ? Under any circumstances like towing a small trailer or else ?
Anyhow. From the Owners Manual:
COOLING MODE ON
This message may display on some vehicles. Under
severe conditions, hot ambient temperatures, steep
grades, and towing, your vehicle may experience more
transmission shifting. This is temporary and normal
under these conditions. This does not require engine or
transmission service.

Have you looked at the digital temperature. There is a link to a free Owner Manual in my sig.
My first wild guess is the water pump, assuming the cooling system is full of coolant, check under the pressure cap.
Stop driving it until it is fixed. Have you noticed the severe missing and loss of power when in cooling mode? That warning means that the engine is very close to turning into a boat anchor.
