Errr..Ummm...Well officer, it's like this.....

I've had my HHR for just three weeks now and I love it, but compared to my old Corvairs its like hopping into a Rolls from a Model T. Well today I found myself talking to a nice officer about doing 75+ in a 55 zone. Thankfully the officer was a car guy who I know from the local show and shines, so I left with a warning about watching my speed on his stretch of road. Phew! Anybody here find themselves surprised by how sneaky fast the HHR is?

Yes............... and the officer was far from nice about it. Besides the ticket, now he looks for me so he can do it again.

I was really surprised how fast my LS was. I even considered making some money racing. But then my alarm sounded and I woke up.

Know what you mean... the car handles speed soo smoothly I found myself going a bit faster than I should before the police did frequently.

Cruise control ends up being your best friend some times..

Nothing wrong with a sense of humor.

Not sure why, but I find our 2010 HHR with the 2.2L motor seems to be quicker and more responsive than our 2006 HHR that had the 2.4L motor.

That is why I use cruise control when on the highway.

I have the opposite effect, i find myself driving slower in this LT2. I guess I'm enured to speed & engine RPM. My HHR is a tad slower than the car I traded, a 2006 Impala SS with a V8.
When I do find my self going too fast, it's because of one of the radio's features, it gets louder as you speed up, so if the song is good, I'll find myself doing 90 before I realize.

Well I've only had my HHR for two days now and at first I thought it was really pathetic with pickup because I'm used to my old Chevy Lumina. However once I got on the freeway it was like wow there. I wasn't looking at the speedometer at all and looked I was doing like 90. So yeah this car can go fast.

I find it fairly quick frm 0 to 50ish. But if I'm in 5th gear and on the highway and try to pass you better downshift or you won't even know you stepped on the gas 2.2 5 speed manuel tran
