Esc
So yesterday while I was driving 2011 hhr 2.2 LT….I got ESC SERVICE…then ESC OFF…along with ABS and Traction lights. Pulled over and shut car off…then cranked it back up…was on briefly then all went off….scanned when got home….had left front wheel speed sensor code (sorry, forget the #). Hasnt happened again so far but in the past it has couple times while with the old front hub assemblies….these now are practically new.
ideas?
Thanks

Best to state the actual code. C0035, by any chance?
ESC light is pretty common and may not be a big deal. Do read the owners manual so you understand what it means. At least one of my GM cars did this and the owners manual just says basically to turn it off and back on and don't worry about it unless it keeps happening. Don't know if the HHR manual says the same, but it might as well.
If it keeps happening, before you start replacing stuff, get under there and see if there's any debris to clean out. There's a TSB on this.
If you still have unexplain alerts, check the harness and connector. It's an old car; the copper wire can be broken even if the insulation can looks fine.

There are a lot of seemingly unrelated things that can cause the ESC and traction warnings. However, when combined with the ABS and an ABS code they combined lead to the wheel sensor.
There should be a 2 digit hex code after the C00XX code that might help. Most common is a chafed wire or bad connection.

Twice I have had moisture wick up into the ABS sensor cable (the part attached to the car harness) and cause a fault code.
Even though the insulation looked perfect on the outside, the copper strands were almost completely gone, replaced by strands of corrosion that just crumbled.
I kept cutting the wires back until nice clean copper appeared. In one case it was bad all the way from the connector to almost a foot back up the harness.
Rock Auto sells a repair harness for the ABS sensors.
