So, that vent valve would be suspect. Don’t forget the discount code! RockAuto!

Yes solenoid.. the more I read online it says the purge valve and canister can cause the same issues. Purge throws another code normally from what I keep reading. The stock canister did have dirt it in when I tapped it on the ground so it was bad. The purge I replaced as I suspected it to be the issue first off a week ago from AutoZone. So unless there part is bad somehow then it has to be the canister solenoid. Unfortunately it won’t be till this weekend when I can look over the HHR again. Wish we didn’t have emissions as I would just delete all of it.

Once again ran great this morning. Don do you think it’s the purge solenoid more then the canister since the purge runs off engine vacuum from manifold to me that would explain why once awhile engine bogs then all a sudden frees up and takes off. Didn’t do this till it threw the code.

Why don’t you just cap the purge solenoid on the intake manifold, leave it plugged in but turn the code off and vent the line? Saves you money and time and it’ll take care of your issue

Years ago I removed all the emissions stuff off my 94z28 but don’t remember if I had to tune everything out though. So if I left it plugged in it won’t throw a code?

take the line that goes to the manifold, disconnect it from the solenoid and route it along the firewall and around into the drivers side wheel well/fender area

It’ll still throw a large evap leak code, but if you turn the code off in hpt, you won’t have a code and you’ll still have readiness plus your problem will be fixed

Wish I had a tuner or tuner software to do that. Acted up this am not wanting to start. But ran fine with no sluggish behavior. Still no CEL anymore so no idea with that.
