I got a new Colorado a month or so ago and haven't been able to sell the '07 LT2 panel and my daughter just bought a new Buick and can't sell her '97 Blazer (economy stinks). I was thinking of stripping the Blazer down to the frame and putting the body of the HHR on it while keeping the the 4.3 and 4WD drive train. Does it seem feasible or am I crazy!

Last time I saw thinking like this it ended up with a Quad racer on a Monster truck chassie.
They really did build it. It was the worlds largest Quad at the time and may still be.
To be honest the HHR could be done and I am suprised it has not already been done.

If you have the tools, time, money, skill and beer it would not be too hard. With the unit body constructrion of the HHR and the full frame of the blazer it sould not be too difficult to set up. You would have a few floor pan mods and body spacers to fab but it could be done with out a lot of fuss.
Cutting the frome to get the right wheel base would be the hardest part. But most 4x4 shops have jigs they could set it up and weld it with no issues.
Heck paint it black and call it Mini Grave Digger.
Heck my buddy did a pro street Fiero with the space frame over the tube chassie. It came out real well. The small block in the front and narrowed rear axle it looks really nice.
