f35 swap what cables do I need?

Hello all, I have a 2006 2.4 LT 5-speed. I'm looking to swap the f23 for an f35. Transmission came out of a 05' Ion redline. I'm curious if I need to change my shift cables, or do I need different cables? Cables for an HHR SS or a Cobalt SS? I see ZZperformance has shift cables for the LNF and LSJ I don't know if they are the same for the HHR or not.

I looked up the shift cable parts numbers for a 2006 HHR and a 2010 HHR SS. It shows the same number. 15277760. Couldn't find the number for the Ion.
Guessing it should work with your cables.
You may want to go with new cables anyhow since yours are 10 years old.

A question though. Which shifter would you use? The SS uses a shorter throw shifter. If you use your present shifter, it's still going to have that wider throw pattern of your LT.

The Ion cables were part number 22720241 , fit the Ion 2004 - 2007, that # superseded to 15277760 for the HHR , so these are compatible and interchangeable, per

Chevrolet. #22720241: CABLE. Transmission Control Cable.

Oh so my cables I have now should in theory work that's good to know. The only reason why I asked is because the shift levers on the f35 look a lot different than what is on the f23. For the time being I will probably use my stock shifter unless I find a good deal on an SS shifter at some point in time.

(Old blue) I wouldn't need the cables out of an Ion I just needed to know if what I have would work with the f35 transmission.

I never did understand why all of these cables are breaking either. My 2006 HHR has 110k on it and I also have a 2004 Alero 5-speed approaching 200k on the clock, never had a problem and I'm still rocking the original clutch as well.

Ok so the cables question is solved now to the master cylinder for the clutch. The set up that is on the HHR is totally different than what I need for the F35. Can I swap out the slave cylinders? Or can I find the hoses that go from the firewall to the transmission. That would be the easiest I think versus trying to switch the slave cylinder.

OB was pointing out that the part numbers are the same, not that you should buy it.

That is a tip! If you want to check compatibility, check the part numbers on a GM online parts store.

Just a note. I pulled up all the trans. mount part numbers. There seems to be 2 that are different between the F23 and F35.
You may want to research that and make sure you've got the correct mounts before trying to do the swap.

Yes I kinda figured that they would be slightly different but I do have a couple different mounts that I can try and if all else fails I can always fabricate a mounting plate to make things work. I really appreciate all the digging and researching you are doing for me.

One more thing.
I could be wrong but I think you'll also have to use the SS axles. Something about the SS uses equal length axles with the F35.
