Factory Alarm

Can anyone tell me how to disconnect the factory alarm. both of my remotes stop working and I want to turn off the alarm so that the horn will stop blowing at 5am in the morning everytime I open the door !

There are fuses that may do this but I agree with NxlKing2304 why not bring the remotes to your dealer and have them reprogrammed or determine why they are not working, if you are still under warranty ?

What is concerning is that both remotes are not working, hence maybe the problem is elsewhere ?

I have an 06 LT. The remotes stopped at different times. I replaced the battery in the first one and after that it would only unlock the doors and nothing else. the second one just stopped working and when i replaced the battery in that one, nothing worked at all. I know the dealer is gonna want an arm and a leg for a new remote. kinda of tired of dumping money into this car. having the third set of rotors put on this friday because of the shaking problem. I will see if there is a fuse that i can pull to stop the horn from blowing when the door opens. not worried about the alarm. its an 06 with 96,000 miles. if they steal it, they would be doing me a favor (LOL) !

Did you check to see if the solder joint went bad in the remotes? Look at this thread https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-tutorial-library-21/keyfob-cold-solder-repair-22641/

I think if you use the key to lock it and not the interior lock button, then the alarm won't go off when you unlock it with the key.

You should be able to go through the menu and deactive your alarm if I remeber right. Dont remeber right of hand but its a combo of two buttons on your cruise switches that takes you to menu, same two to reset the oil life indicator. Scroll through till you find it. Ill take a look at it today and let you know if some doesnt before then.

The only way to bypass the alarm is not activating it by the above directions.

Why dont you just buy a new remote, there not that expensive. You can find programming instructions online I think.
