factory remote start on 5-speed

i see on the chevy website that they added the remote start for the 5-speed trans ($150 option). is this true or a website error?

I think that would be an error. GM would never recommend parking a vehicle in neutral.

Now I know why my car keeps rolling down to the end of the drive when I park it.

Remote start with manual..You need the clutch pushed in to start a manual transmission, a safety feature that has been around for a couple of decades.

When you install a remote start on a standard (manual), you by-pass the clutch switch BUT add a switch to confirm that the vehicle is in Neutral. Works great except you have to leave it parked in neutral.

i checked to see if i could add this to my order. the box is there under options and when we tried to check it, a window pops up saying that the MXO 4-speed sutomatic is required. the AP3 is listed as a $150 option, but only with the auto trans.

seems odd since it is standard with the auto trans. but, when you check the MX0 box for the 4-speed auto, it checks the AP3 box automatically. i wonder if you can uncheck the AP3 box and get a $150 credit and an automatic trans without the remote starter?

They do manufacture the auto trans without the remote start, but I think it may only be sold in Canada, I see a few like that at dealers.
Odd, as the remote start was a must for me due to very cold Canadian winter mornings. Those of you in the south wouldnt need it as much, I would think.

I think the remote start with auto is also a delete item for fleet (rental) orders.
