a few random general questions

the steering wheel rarely locks itself when i park and shut off the car. only times i see it lock is when its turned a good amount. does it have to be turned a certain amount either way for it to lock?

also, is there a way to have the auto lights NOT come on everytime i unlock the doors from the remote, as well as start the car? i dont like the headlights being on during the day.

thanks!

That's how most new cars (well, at least GM cars) are nowadays.

You can set the headlight to not flash when you unlock/lock with the remote in the DIC setup, By holding the info and enter buttons at the same time to enter program mode, then scroll thru options. That is in the "Owner's Manual". The Steering wheel lock is probably due to the "turn the wheels toward the curb" when parking rules in your high school driver's course (that we have all forgotten).

I've got to turn my wheel a half a spin before it locks.

I didn't think those worked?

It's a light that is supposed to tell you when to shift I believe...but I thought I saw before that people said they rarely light up.

thanks!
The steering wheel is locked when you shut it off.. Just try & turn it, it won't turn far till it locks in.

Yes, these were put in hhr's without running boards to protect the rear doors from chipping. Remove them when you install your running boards (mine came with running boards so NO idea on removal tips)
