Filter Change Today!

R CA HHR,
K&N Part number: HP-7000 for the K&N Filter for the 2.2L and 2.4L Ecotec's.
Actually we only have Advance Auto Parts here in the Central Ohio Area, no sister stores here. I plan on going to Castrol Syntec @ 1k and changing in intervals of 5k or when OLM is @ 30% whichever comes first.

I changed the oil on mine @ 3000. miles no metal shavings, but I did noticed the factory filter was slightyly crushed a bit. Castrol GTX 5w30 works for me! I swear after changing the oil the engine idles perfectly smooth and runs smoother as well!

My filter change at 1100 miles looked all wavy like that also. Did not notice any shavings though. SuperTech filter in there now will be changed out in about 2 weeks (3000 miles) so I'll see and report what that looks like. Fram 9018 will be going in for probably another 3K OIC before I go back to 5 K changes

Ok changed my oil today..3000 mile change per my plan as stated above....here are some pics of the Super Tech 9018 filter that was used...look at how much tighter the pleats are on the filter vs the OEM filter...also notice how the filter is not deformed like the OEM and this was after 3000 miles...the Supertech 9018 and the Fram 9018 and also the STP 9018 are all Made in Bulgaria and appear to be exactly the same except the media in the Fram is a bit darker. There is a Fram 9018 in for a filter and the fill is Castrol GTX 5W30. May go to synth next change but I have a lot of dino in my garage.
Just an FYI for any Mobil 1 users...I saw the 5 qt jug at Wally World today for 19.94......3.99 a quart which is a great price
