Finally Did it.

Well Saturday was the day(my birthday no less). Found the right deal at Paddock Chevrolet in Kenmore, NY. Traded my truck on a '10 LS, 2.2, 5 speed, aqua blue. The only option was a spare tire. Car needs to serve the purpose of econimcal transportation to and from work. I am so far extrememly happy, getting much better than the 32MPG avertised(as long as i do not run 75mph on the highway). Only major flaw is not being able to see the traffic lights when I am at the stop lines(6'5" tall), but I hauled cars for 20 years and am used to having to look down and under the roof line.

Anyone tow with a 5 speed? I see this is a NO-No according to the owners manual...WHY? Afraid I am going to burn out the clutch? If I install a reciever hitch is this going to viod my warranty? Also what is the round thing in the headliner.

Thanks

Congratz on the purchase, I wonder if thats the Jetstream blue GM offers, if so, thats a sick color.

I have the same issue with the roof line but I got used to it. More annoying was my knee hitting the dash. As for towing, the clutch can def be an issue but I am assuming your not towing a 3500lbs car on a 16' Open car trailer lol. But for basic things, maybe at most a small lawn tractor/utilitly trailer I do not see the issue.

The stress you introduce on the clutch when you get the car going from the stop will be the worst and slipping the clutch up is just as bad so be careful with adding a hitch. If a service advisor/manager can directly attribute the modification to the failure of the part, then your most times out of luck.

the window sticker says "aqua blue metallic", its definatly a cool looking blue. I just need the trailer to tow some small things, lawn mower, my bike...ect, not going to move cars, or heavy equipment, I have all the trucks at work i need for that. I move drilling rigs and oil field equipment for work everyday and have more years fo expecince with a clutch than i imagine you would care to hear about. I just dont want any problems with chevy should I have warranty problems...thanks, Rick

Get the Light-in-sight. There is a link around here somewhere. It's not the perfect solution (lowering the seat 2-3 inches would really help) but you can watch the light without ducking down.
I got my HHR-SS at Paddock in '08. Never been back, though. I live near Glen Campbell.

Honda questioned my hitch (with a 5 speed) and I told them it was for a bike rack (true) But I also tow a little harbor frieght trailer from time to time.

Procarhauler Welcome & Congrats...

Looking for the traffic lights reminds of being in a chopped rod.. I like it !!!
But I'm used to it..

The "round thing' in the headliner should be your dome light.

I was thinking more the mic for the onstar as a dome light is easily recognized.

Mine got a hitch on it before it got tags. I use mine about the same as what you described. It's going to depend on your dealership. I have a 4x6 tilt trailer and a hitch haul. If you damage the clutch or have any issues, they will probably deny that warranty claim. But like you, I have 20 years of tractor trailer experience under my belt, clutch use is not an issue for me.

I've seen that Aqua Blue, it's a nice color....

Yea, its good that you have that exp. I just think GM stuff on average is junk and if the dealership can deny a claim, they will.

on the color here is the jestream blue

Aqua Blue Met.
