first gear don't engage first time, but the second to the first yes
Hello guys. I have issues with my HHR 2006 after replacing the master cylinder clutch suddenly one day fall down, the first gear didn't want to engage, well sometimes yes and sometimes no, when it happens that I engage to the second first and without release, the clutch engages the first and yes in that way engage the first gear, but if I try directly from neutral to first no, BUT I notice the engine a little also accelerate, example if I have to stop in a top signal, when I tried to engage the first I hear the engine a little high, the times engage the first gear from the first time is when the engine is low, also if the car is off I can engage the first gear without any problem, the others gear 2do, 3re, 4th and 5th and even rear is not problem, is just the first gear for the first time or when I stop the car in a stop signal.
so I looking for any advice or if somebody has this experience,

yes but I solve and replaced the master cylinder clutch and bleeding the clutch and was ok, but the issue is just only with the first gear, sometimes work easy and other times super hard and impossible to engage, so in that way I have to engage the second and keep the foot in the clutch engage the first gear and work.
will be transmission issues?, the rest of the gear work.

Very similar to the release bearing or the deformation of the "fork" of the release bearing.
Consider replacing this - it shouldn't be expensive, but certainly time consuming.
It could also be a 1st gear synchronizer problem. In this case, you will have to disassemble the transmission.

My money is on the clutch not fully disengaging. Probably a mechanical issue between the pedal and the MC. Since there is no adjustment I think the MC might be misaligned or loose, not letting the plunger go all the way in. Or, wrong MC.

I’ve driven many vehicles over the years that you could use that clutchless technique. My SS is one that you can’t.
