Floor mat question

I'm new to the HHR world and have a question.

On the front driver floor mat, it has a hole in it. Does the mat somehow bolt down to the floor? What is the hole in the mat for

There is a small plastic hook molded into the carpet. The mat hooks onto that to keep it from sliding forward and possibly wedging against the brake or accelerator pedal.
That is, unless your's is broken off.

Yep, no hook. Just a round hole in the carpet. Do you know if that hook can be replaced?

Good question.
Now if it was mine, I would just make my own. But then again, I'm always tinkering and fabbing up stuff like that.

Fwiw. I have Husky liners that are form fitted so they don't even fasten to that hook.

I remember years ago one of our members had to replace the complete carpet to replace a broken hook.

I just picked up a set of used OEM SS front mats. Thats how I found the hole in the mat and I could not figure out why/what the hole in the carpet was about.

Is that the factory hook? Will that screw right into the floor? Sorry that I'm being so dumb, but I have not seen the factory setup yet so I'm still running blind on this.

No problem.

This was just one type that I found. I don't think that GM offers just the hook without getting the complete carpet.

There are other manufactures that offer replacements so your best bet is try to find something close that will work.
