Floor Mats

Floor Mats
I picked up a set of aftermarket mats, that are custom fitted and have HHR on them, for one of my HHR's. Oddly enough, none of the three I own, have the original mats, apparently, they're high demand items.

Like Owner's Manuals, I've found that the original floor-mats are the next thing to vanish from vehicles.
Maybe they go where "lost socks" go when the dryer eats one. Just happened to me yesterday, folded and put away the laundry, and now I've got one dark blue sock with no friend...ugh.

It should be the law everywhere. I was just talking to a buddy about the fact, that you can't throw someone your keys to simply jump in the car and drive them anymore. When I worked as a mechanic in the mid 80's, I could jump in any car, without a second thought, now I need a few minutes, just to get oriented with the basic functions!

How true taz3, it used to be that the controls on GM cars were laid out in a predictable pattern, the same held true for Ford and Chrysler products.
Then you had the Japanese cars which just seemed "weird", and British cars where they didn't even label the knobs!
I remember the first Mercedes-Benz I sat in back in 1979, everything fell right to hand, all the controls were easy to understand, and they moved so smoothly.
Of course a new Mercedes cost a cool $20,000 compared to Grandpa's "fully loaded" Dodge Diplomat SE with a 360 V-8 and vinyl roof which came to $5,788.45...I still have the window sticker.
Wish I still had the car, that 360 might have only had 165hp, but it poured out 270ft lbs. of torque which made the 'Ol Stodge quite capable of hauling tail.

Oh, and my 2011 came with all 4 floor mats AND all of the rubber inserts. No Owner Manual, but a promise to reimburse the purchase price (in writing), but digital is free.
Once again, since this thread will pop up in the Search for Owners Manual and sometimes the Search won't give it up, I had to try 4 times just now.

I got lucky in my hunt for an engine, the wreckers had a damaged hhr I've purchased parts from and still had the manual in the glove box. The best part was, when I brought it in to purchase it, they said not to worry about it, it's on the house! I'm on a roll, a set of custom hhr mats and an owner's manual.
