2009 Subaru Forester 2.5X, 5-speed manual trans. I wanted AWD since my brother is getting some land that will put a log home on, wooded acreage well off the beaten path with primitive access. I felt the newly redesigned Forester offered the most features and economy for the money, not to mention a good AWD layout. My bro is a huge Chevy guy but he said he'll allow the Subaru on his land for a fee, lol. Maybe if I get stuck he can pull me out with his Silverado 4 x 4, LOL.

I still gaze fondly at HHR's I see on the road they will always occupy a special place in my heart, but I do like the new Soob. It will come in handy for weekends at the cabin hunting etc. Ironic that it is a bit of an icon of the tree hugger movement and I'll be using it to get to a place to hunt.

If I could have swung it I would have gotten the turbo version w/ the WRX engine but they were beyond my budget.

(flame suit on... ...for choosing an import nameplate)
