Freaking potholes
Last week I was driving in the left lane of a two lane road (I normally don't drive in the left lane in that area) and didn't realize until it was too late that there was a huge crater, er pothole, next to the manhole cover.
Hit it pretty good...noticed today that I've got a nice bulge in the sidewall of my tire now.
Because of the mileage on the tires, I'm going to have to buy two tires
More money to spend that I don't have.

There's a pothole in the right lane near where I work, that's about 2 feet long now, and probably 6-8" deep, not sure, since the brown meltwater from all the snow piles in the gutter fills it back in in a few seconds after the spectacular ejection every time someone crashes through it, making it completely invisible. Sure it must be doing plenty of damage, but it's not the only one by far.

I know some people in Ohio at least I've heard on the news in Cleveland that the city actually had to pay for repairs of tires and wheels of peoples cars damaged from these pot holes. Don't recall where they get the form, may have been from a police dept or city hall but know some have collected since the city is responsible for road repair and if they know of a reported chuck hole and then a car is damaged, they have been held responsible and have paid.

I've heard that the city I live in does that also, but has a limit on how many payouts they do each winter.
The pothole in question has now been repaired, so hopefully there should be a record of the road repair.
