Front bench seat

My wife uses the car to deliver mail on a rural route and currently straddles the center console with cushions on the console for padding. I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of anyone putting a bench seat in the front of a HHR or if anyone has an idea about what size may fit.
The is beat up badly from delivering the mail so I am not worried about how it looks only functionality.
Thanks for any help.

A rear bench from a minivan is plausible, measure the width of the two front buckets, then you would still need to compensate for the shifter, seat belts, passenger present sensors. But it can be done

There will be fabrication involved

1st you would have to remove the center console. Then you would need to relocate the modules under the console. And, the parking brake would have to be disconnected and removed. Without removing or relocating these things, a bench seat wouldn't fit in there.
It would not be a simple job.

Yes, I neglected to mention the parking brake , perhaps an electric unit could be used

Might fit The Chevy S10 has Front hip room of 52” , the HHR is 50.1” I do not know if the measurements are door panel to door panel or seat edge to edge.

Wouldn't pedal extensions be cheaper and easier? I am sure the union can refer you to a manufacturer.
