i voted 93 but I meant 91
Forgot what was offered around here for a minute
I have ran the 89 before and didn't really notice much of a difference. but I stick with the 91 now because I believe it runs better and cleaner and maybe even better mileage, but that might be just me.

Glad I saw this post, I had no idea a higher octane was recoomended for the 2.4. You think my salesman would have said something
At least Chevy should put a label on the fuel cap saying 91 or higher octane.
Also never use E85 unless permitted. Your car will run on it, but it is highly corrosive on parts that aren't made for E85.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT put Avgas in your new car. Avgas contains lead still for the valves and will totally wreck your emmissions system and void your warranty. Avgas at it's lowest level is 100LL, standing for 100 octane, low lead. I know this because I am in aviation and have been for 18 years. It's great for old hot rods without emmissions and a catalytic converter. Oh yeah, lead clogs the converter as well.
