Full Moons on an HHR
Someone asked to see what full moons would look like on an HHR.
Believe it or not I seem to get a lot of good comments on my Panel.
Basically there are two styles of full moons. 1. (mine) Brushed stainless steel with no hole for the valve stem. These tap on easily and have never came off two years running. If you need air you have to take these off to do it but I carry an old style brake adjuster wrench and they pop right off. They cost about $150 for four.
2. Polished chromed stainless (shiny) with a hole for the stem. I have debated buying a set of these and alternate usage. These cost more than the ones I have.
Have fun with your HHR - I do.

When I first installed my full moons I noticed that they looked like they loosened up. For a couple of weeks I would go around and tap them on tight before I drove away - just to make sure. Seems the moons find their own level so to speak. You tap them on tight and they loosen to a certain degree. I quit tapping them on tight and they have never come off.
That leaves a gap that lets small stones inside and they make noise at slow speeds. One time I found a whole dried leaf inside the cap. You wouldn't think a leaf would make noise but it did.

Oldblue- I use electrical tape run around entire circle of 'clips' that hold on stainless trim rings on my old Flathead Trike.
They never come loose & when I do remove them, the painted rims are NOT scratched.. FYI.
