Funny thing about battery voltage
1st thing. I'm not having any problems with my battery in my SS. In fact, it started just fine when I was getting these pictures. But, after several recent threads of other peoples battery woes, I decided to do some voltage checks on mine. This is after my car hasn't been used in about 10 days.
Discuss it if you want to but remember my car with these readings is not having any battery related issues. Just thought it was interesting that the voltage showed that low before starting the engine.
(Sorry for the fuzzy pics. Took them without the flash turned on )
And I'm sure I just jinxed my battery. I'll start shopping for a replacement.
Pic 1 was turn the key to ON(not to start) and waited about 20 seconds for the RPD to boot up. Yes, the headlights are on. 10.5 volts.
Cranked up the car and let it idle for about 20 seconds. 14.1 volts.

Don, you mean a few amps...
We have tons of new car battery warranty in MOPAR-ville. Lead-acid batteries just do not do well just sitting around, especially in temperature extremes. We aren't alone with the issue.

I've seen brand new batteries test voltage at 12.4, yet spin an engine fast. I believe some places do not do a 100% charge initially & the battery has memory of that.
This year in March I got a new battery for my Mower, it tested 12.6 when I got it home, obviously had been fully charged. Yet the battery for wifes Mopar new tested 12.4, but would spin it quick as you want.
It has the amps, but not all the volts.

This morning took a VOM reading at the underhood main battery cable terminal. 11.27 volts. After opening the door to pull the hood latch, I waited until the interior lights went out before taking the reading. That way nothing was "On" and drawing any amps other than the computer stuff that's on all the time.
