You don’t recall my radio getting zapped last August? Thankfully truckingeek was kind enough to send me a radio he had and my GM dealership could match it up to my VIN.

Just for the record, which battery did you choose?
No radio zap. I just went with the Walmart Everstart Maxx T5. Have had good service with a couple of the Walmart branded batteries over the years, so I figured why not try theirs again.
The battery in my tractor was a Walmart Everstart that lasted for 13 years until it died last year. My Dodge had one that made it to 9 years until it died about a year ago. Both of those got a Walmart replacement.

A couple observations about the SS battery replacement. (the battery was disconnected for about 2 hours)
Didn't loose the radio presets but had to reset the clock,
The rear hatch locked but the front door did not when the new battery was connected. I had closed the hatch after hooking up the battery but wanted to get a shop towel from the back interior before I started the car. Had to do a double tap on the remote to unlock the hatch.
When I 1st started the car it took a good 5 seconds of turning over before it fired off. It did that weird thing that Donbrew has mentioned before about the starter staying engaged EVEN if you let go of the key ! That will get your attention !

Just some insight.
Going back to #1 post I looked at mine thru the RPD also.
With everything turned off and just turning the key to on my battery reads 11.8 volts.
This is a good known battery also.
Wouldn't you think I would see a better static voltage ?
I did let it sit for 5 minutes with the key on to see if various things took time to boot up and get happy.
Voltage stayed at 11.8.
Started the car and voltage went to 13.9-14.1

Great voltage from the charging system, test your battery at the battery terminals, see if it’s higher there.

Yes Blue I did think to do that and will do it.
Just wanted to see available battery voltage using the aboard screen.
It will be interesting to find out if there is a difference.

The RPD depends on the computers. I bet the computer uses some AlGoreithm to calculate what to display.
